Nepalis and 2010 Census

The US Census Bureau will be conducting its 2010 census next spring - to get a complete and accurate count of all USA residents, both citizens and non-citizens alike. We are partnering with the US Census Bureau to
help increase participation and delivery of the 2010 Census message. The partnership involves collaborations and outreaches with local organizations to promote information sharing on completing and returning the census questionnaire which will be mailed out next March to every household in the US.

According to the 2000 census, there were only 11,715 Nepalis (born in Nepal) in the US. We believe there
are ten times as many in the entire country. Here is our opportunity to get counted, and have our voices heard.

We are inviting everyone interested in the well-being of the Nepali community to be part of the first Nepali Complete Count Committee. Let's make sure Nepalis count!

In New York area we will be meeting in person. For others, we plan to organize conference call and use emails/facebook to keep in touch and update each other. If you are interested in making sure that Nepalis are counted, please fill out the form by clicking the link below, and we will keep you posted.
